The Buffalo Sabres and Nashville Predators will link up at Bridgestone Arena tonight for some Thursday night puck action. These two squads are trending in the opposite direction of late, as the Sabres are 2-5-3 in their last 10 and the Predators are 8-1-1 in their previous 10. Nashville has been solid at home this season, as they have tallied 11 wins in 16 games on home ice this year. The Sabres on the other hand have struggled when they hit the road, winning just 4 times in 16 road games this season.
The goalie matchup tonight will be between Aaron Dell for the Sabres and Juuse Saros of the Preds. Dell has been a disaster in net this season for the Sabres, as he carries a pitiful 0-5-0 record into this one and a GAA of 4.52 (goals against average). On the other end of the ice, the Predators will start Juuse Saros. He is 20-9-1 on the season and boasts a solid 2.27 GAA. The Sabres offense has been ranked near the bottom this season, as they are 25th in the NHL in goals. Things do not get much better when they hit the road, as they are 22nd in the NHL in goals scored amongst all road teams. They will face a Predators defensive unit that is ranked 5th in the NHL in allowing goals at home.

The Sabres defense has struggled more than their offense this season, ranking 29th in goals allowed. Tonight they will go up against a Nashville team that ranks 4th in the NHL in power play percentage and 11th overall in goals scored. Nashville is 6-3-1 in their last 10 against the Sabres and 2-1 in their last 3 against Buffalo. The Sabres have been doing well ATS this season, as they carry a 21-14 ATS record into Thursday night's battle. However, I see a ton of value in laying the -1.5 here with the Preds. This Nashville team should be able to find the back of the net a lot tonight against a poor Buffalo defense and goaltender. The Sabres are riddled with injuries and I expect the Predators to pounce all over them tonight, take the Preds -1.5 at home against Buffalo.
